The buzz of banter and the chink of glasses – yes it was the Annual Dinner of the Downham Market Twinning Club on January 20th, at the Castle Hotel in Downham Market.
39 members and friends joined the Downham Market Mayor, Frank Daymond and his wife Heather for an enjoyable meal at the Castle Hotel.
A speech was given by the Mayor, highlighting the success of the Club over 40 years, as a Club run for the Council and Town by ongoing hard working committees. This had continued since the signing of the Charter between Downham and Civray in France in 1976.
The Downham Market Twinning Chairman Steve Reynolds responded but finished with a sadness by saying that he would be resigning as Chairman at the AGM in May.
Steve has worked very hard for the Club over his period as Chairman for which we are very grateful and are very pleased to hear that he will still be a member of the Club joining in with us on various occasions. Thank you Steve.
The evening concluded with some music and some of us even had a dance or two.
We look forward to seeing you all during 2018 at any of our Club activities.
